Syria cannot be viewed with the same lenses which viewed Libya, Yemen, or any other Arab country in revolt. Unlike Egypt and Libya, Syria’s military will not likely defect, because most of the military are Alawites, as is Assad and his regime. Syria is also unlikely to turn out like Libya, because there is no NATO presence in Syria. Syria can still trade with its Lebanese and Iraqi neighbors, who find a stable Syria under the monster, Assad, safer than an unpredictable Syria after Assad.
